phpBB is a web-based forum system, written in PHP. This version supports many more database systems, including Postgres, Oracle, Firebird, etc. In general, phpBB categorizes users into different roles, including system administrators, registered users, board owners and guests. Administrator can set the permission for each user role per forum board level. On the user side, if a member has enough permission, he/she can post message, upload files/images, create new poll or sending private messages to other board members.
