Liferay Portal is an entreprise-classed portal system, using Java/J2EE technology. It follows Java Portlet JSR 168 Specifications, it comes with many useful portlets providing Web Mail, Blogs, Files Sharing, Forums, E-Commerce, Wiki, etc. functionalities. Liferay uses many popular Java packages, such as Ant, Hibernate, Lucene (for searhing), Spring, Struts, Velocity, etc. It can run on many J2EE application servers including BEA Weblogic and IBM Websphere.
